According to the particularity of the pharmaceutical industry, pure water equipment in the pharmaceutical industry requires regular cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection due to the use of low-carbon stainless steel or other materials that have been verified to not pollute water quality. Moreover, the entire equipment, from system design, material selection, preparation process, storage, distribution, and use, needs to be set according to water use standards and specifications.
At present, deionized water equipment in the market is widely used in the semiconductor industry, electric power ultra pure water, chemical industry, food, synthetic chemistry and petrochemical industry, electroplating waste liquid recovery, electroplating waste liquid and other fields. Can pure water in the pharmaceutical industry be produced using deionized water equipment?
The process of deionized water can be divided into four types:
1. The resistivity of deionized water obtained by cation anion exchange resin is below 10us/cm;
2. Two stage reverse osmosis water treatment technology: raw water (tap water or groundwater) → multi-media filter → activated carbon filter → water softener → intermediate water tank → low-pressure pump → precision filter → first stage reverse osmosis → pH adjustment → mixer → second stage reverse osmosis (with positive charge on the surface of the reverse osmosis membrane) → pure water tank → pure water pump → microporous filter → water target. The effluent resistivity can be controlled between 1-18M Ω· cm;
3. Pre treatment (i.e. sand carbon filter+precision filter)+reverse osmosis+mixed bed process can remove more than 90% of ions in water;
4. Pre treatment (i.e. sand carbon filter+precision filter)+reverse osmosis+EDI continuous desalination, electric regeneration, no need for acid-base regeneration resin;
Reminder: The four types of deionized water processes mentioned above are widely used in pre-treatment (i.e. sand carbon filter+precision filter)+reverse osmosis+mixed bed process.
